Hajir Dadgostar, MD, PhD
Dr. Hajir Dadgostar is an ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and diseases of the macula. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors in Psychobiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Dadgostar received his medical training in the Medical Scientist Training Program at UCLA. There, in addition to earning his Medical Doctorate degree, he performed award-winning research on the biochemistry of inflammation and earned his PhD degree in Molecular Biology.
He received his residency training in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Dadgostar then went on to complete a surgical fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute, where he also participated in multiple clinical trials evaluating cutting-edge therapies for macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusions.
Dr. Dadgostar has been awarded the prestigious Heed Foundation Fellowship award. His work is on the forefront of medical science, and he has published numerous articles based on award-winning research on eye diseases, including retinal vascular diseases and age-related macular degeneration. He has also contributed numerous invited book chapters on topics ranging from the latest treatments for macular degeneration to diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular tumors, and retinal injury.
